Join Sonoma Ecology Center and Greenbelt Alliance in a walk through beautiful Sonoma Valley Regional Park to witness the land rebound and learn about fire ecology. Led by SEC’s Caitlin Cornwall and Greenbelt’s Teri Shore, hikers will experience the greening of the charred landscape and look for fire-follower flowers.

This is part of Sonoma Ecology Center’s Fire Recovery Walks and the only walk so far that is held in partnership with the Greenbelt Alliance. Bring water, lunch, dress in layers, and wear good hiking shoes. Bring poles if you normally use them. You may wish to bring binoculars. The walk will be on both paved paths and single track trails, so be prepared for mud. There is a $7 per vehicle park entrance fee. If you have any questions about this outing, email Ken Lavin or phone him at 415-543-6771, ext. 321.

The Fire Recover Walk series is partially paid for by SEC’s Sonoma Valley Ecological Fire Relief Fund. Donations to this fund – dedicated to fire education, active response and prevention – are gratefully accepted. To donate go to https://www.sonomaecologycenter.org/sonoma-valley-fires-fund/.
